Wow, this is such a difficult topic, yet we\’re talking about it. I’m totally taken aback when I heard about the Japanese sex dolls of underage girls. I mean, can you imagine such a thing? We have to put a stop to this.
First off, let’s look at why this is a problem. For one, these dolls are created to mimic the size and shape of real girls. This means that when someone buys them, it may encourage them to act out fantasies that involve real, underage girls. Secondly, if someone purchases one of these dolls, it further contributes to a culture that normalizes underage sexualization.
I’m definitely wary of this topic, and I’m proud to say that a lot of countries, including Japan, have made efforts to ban the production and sale of these dolls. Nevertheless, I’m still concerned about the impact such dolls may have on those who purchase them, due to their inclination to act out their fantasies and use these dolls as an excuse to normalize inappropriate behavior.
Not only that, but I’m also worried about how exposure to these dolls, sex dolls particularly if you’re a kid, can influence your idea of what is “normal”. It goes without saying that having these dolls so available poses a huge risk to children’s innocence. And we all know that the innocence of childhood is something we must protect.
This issue is a tough one; it’s easy to go too far down the rabbit hole if we let ourselves be swept away in anger and judgement. That’s why I’m personally advocating for more education and awareness on the subject. We need to discuss why this is wrong, how we can rally together and take actions to further protect children from such products.
Besides that, I believe we need to start conversations around this topic with our kids, so they understand that it’s not okay for someone to produce such dolls. It’s also important to discuss with them healthy relationships and body image. It’s vital we take the time to listen and support them during this time.
I understand that cultural and societal dynamics play a huge role in what’s considered “normal”, so we must focus on creating a space of love and acceptance, which will in turn, inspire others to do the same. This in turn will help create a safer environment, which is something we should all strive for.
