The other day, I was talking to a buddy about this new sex doll movie that’s supposedly going to be out sometime soon. We started talking about its genre, whether it would be any good, the actors and actresses, Penis Rings and then we both wondered: what language would the movie be shot in?
I’m personally not a huge fan of sex doll movies but I’m intrigued nonetheless. It could be an interesting experiment to explore the boundaries of human desire. I’m also curious as to how they are going to depict the movie without looking too sensational and exploitative.
The first thought that came to my mind was whether the movie would be released in a different language other than English. After all, what better way to create a sense of distance than to use an entirely different language? I mean, movies from other countries often feel so alien to us westerners. We can barely understand what’s being said, vibrators and yet their stories remain undeniably captivating.
On the other hand, I wondered if the film could still have the same impact in English. Then there’s the fact that English has become somewhat of a universal language, so why not use it for a movie like this? Perhaps the director and the filmmakers could blend the two— extensive use of English with snippets of other languages sprinkled throughout.
As for me, if I was ever given the chance to be involved with this project, I’d definitely bring in the elements of other languages. I’d look to make the movie as accurate to the source material as possible. Plus, I feel like the audience would appreciate the cultural nuances that come with different languages.
