why does walmart have security tags on sex toys
I can’t believe it! Walmart actually has security tags on sex toys. I heard about this from a friend and my initial reaction was one of total shock and confusion. What’s the deal with having security tags on sex toys? It’s like the retail giant is saying… “if you want to purchase a sex toy, you better be prepared to be scrupulously monitored.” I mean, it almost feels like Walmart is policing our sexual expression.
As far as I know, security tags are usually reserved for items that could be expensive, like jewelry and sex toys electronics. So why put the same measures in place for sex toys? What makes them so dangerous that we have to protect them with tags? For the life of me I can’t figure out why Walmart is being so restrictive when it comes to this particular category of merchandise.
At first glance, it sounds like Walmart might be trying to prevent the sale of sex toys to minors. But if that was the case, why wouldn’t they just put age restrictions on the purchase, like they do with cigarettes or alcohol? After all, it’s not as if there’s any reason why a kid would even want to buy a toy in the first place.
Then it got me thinking. Maybe Walmart is conscious of the fact that not everyone has an open mind when it comes to sex, and they figure that putting security tags on sex toys would be a way to protect their stores and customers from controversy. But at the same time, if you just think about it – it’s like Walmart is saying that sex is something to be hidden. It’s not out in the open, but something to be kept secret, out of sight.
Another possibility could be that Walmart worries that someone might try to steal sex toys. But if that’s the case, why not just make them harder to snatch by packaging them securely or placing them behind a locked case? That way, the risk of theft would still be reduced without having to resort to using security tags.
I suppose it’s possible that Walmart is just being paranoid and they figure that it’s better to be safe than sorry. But in reality, it’s difficult to say why Walmart has come to the conclusion that sex toys need special security measures. Whether it’s because they want to protect the minors, to stay away from controversies or just for their own liability, it’s impossible to determine the motivation behind the policy.
